Again, another year at Edinburgh reaches a close - a fun filled festival with so much input. There were 3,893 shows! It is hard to believe that Edinburgh as we know it transforms for three weeks of the year to host this mega arts event.
301 venues brought work to life representing 36 different countries. Street artists, including buskers kept up a lively ambience in the biggest global arts celebration. The talent displayed is something else - many performers are discovered in the Scottish capital.
Main themes and issues included, club culture, science, technology, and there was a significant representation of diverse backgrounds such as working class people, LGBTQ and nuerodiverse work.

One critisism is that it costs a small fortune to participate, governments are working hard to try and resolve this. A few years ago as part of the 75th year of the event - one of the priorities was remaining true to the origins of why the 'fringe' was formed, offering inclusion and a big welcome to all.
Three values to keep the Fringe at the top of its game are 'to celebrate the performing arts, be open to all and to look out for each other'.
Much effort was made to include people who normally would not attend this event - called the 'the fringe days out scheme' offering transport and vouchers. This is a great example of inclusion and fairness.
So for another year then, it's all over, but the stamp on Edinburgh and impactfulness will remain.
